Your results, explained.
Every result is reviewed by a doctor. We contact you if something is urgent, and go through results with you at a follow-up appointment, in person or by telehealth.

What happens after a test.
When your test results arrive, a doctor reviews them. If something needs urgent attention, we will contact you. For everything else, results are given at a follow-up appointment, so they can be explained properly rather than read out.
Reception can tell you whether a result has arrived, but cannot interpret it for you.
- Book a results appointment
- Talk it through with your GP
- Tests, treatment or referral if needed
- Follow-up and review
No news is not good news. Always follow up on a test you have had.
How long do results take?
It depends on the test. Your GP will give you an idea when the test is ordered.
Why can reception not tell me my result?
Results need context from a doctor who knows why the test was ordered.
Making a plan.
Your GP will explain what your results mean for you, whether anything needs treatment or monitoring, and when tests should be repeated.
You can ask for a copy of your results for your own records.
